Ginny Hamilton Barns

Deputy Head of Research, London Politica

Ginny is the Deputy Head of Research at London Politica. She takes on this role following two years with the company, during which she has led a number of client projects, research reports, collaborations and events.

Academically, Ginny recently completed her MSc degree in international relations from London School of Economics. Her dissertation research focussed on US-China relations surrounding the negotiations for China’s accession to the WTO.

Ginny is particularly interested in the nexus between technology and international politics, which is becoming a burgeoning frontier for conflict and competition. As Director of the Tech and Cyber Programme at London Politica, she has overseen the growth of the team from 0 to 29 members and an equally fast-growing client base.

Professionally, Ginny has worked for a number of companies including business councils, security consultancies and tech companies based across Asia and Europe. She has also been awarded a Higher Education award for helping to integrate international students into university life in 2020.
