Simran is a Senior Analyst and Consultant within London Politica’s Global Commodities Watch Programme. She holds an M.Sc. in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and a B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science, International Relations, and Contemporary Asian Studies from the University of Toronto.
Her research interests include the political economy of emerging markets, global environmental policy, international development, political anthropology, and the nexus between—and consequences of—climate change and resource conflict in the Global South. She especially focuses her research on South, Southeast, and West Asia, and Latin America.
Simran previously worked at Civic Exchange—a global top 50 environmental think tank based in Hong Kong, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in New Delhi, the NATO Association of Canada, and the Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect—both in Toronto.
