Amaar Lone

Senior Research Analyst, Middle East Watch, London Politica

Amaar is a Senior Analyst at London Politica's Middle East Watch Programme. Amaar is a graduate from Durham University, having done his Masters in Middle Eastern International Relations and Undergraduate in Politics.

Amaar specialises in Middle Eastern conflicts and geopolitics, with a particular focus on the Saudi-Iranian Cold War, power politics between the major regional players, and the role of non-state and foreign actors in the MENA region and beyond. Additionally, he has a strong understanding of developments in South Asia, particularly those relating to the Kashmir conflict 

Amaar has previously held positions as the Chairman of the Stephenson College JCR and as the Operations Manager of a start-up, while having experience founding and running his own policy-focused publication.
