London Politica also publishes analysis and insight on emerging and prominent trends in political, geopolitical, economic, and security risk through our six Research Programmes, our regional Spotlight Desks, as well as the London Politica Podcast, which features industry thought leaders, and influential policymakers. This enables us to provide comprehensive and thorough analysis on global political risks for our clients and public audience.
About the role
Communications Associates (CA) will be an integral part of the London Politica team. You will contribute to and implement London Politica’s content strategy across our social media accounts, website, and podcasting platforms.
This is an unpaid role that will help you develop your skills in communications, political risk and will give you the opportunity to produce Spotlight articles for the London Politica website. Students from all university/college degrees are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities:
Social Media Management and Content Editing
Designing graphics according to our manual and creating new templates to post on social media platforms and the website.
Drafting and publishing Twitter threads to promote London Politica’s research content.
Live webinar events management and operation.
Communicating with the Research team on content and ideas.
Publishing on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
Supporting ad hoc projects.
Producing written content for press releases, London Politica’s website, and captions for social media posts.
Editing videos for Youtube explainers.
Communicating with the Research team on content and ideas.
Supporting ad hoc projects.
Requirements:
Hold, or currently enrolled in Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree.
A strong command of the English language and excellent writing skills.
An interest in political risk and current affairs.
Able to deliver on projects within expected times.
Able to commit at least 6-8 hours per week on average.
Proficient in Canva, Squarespace or other software such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (a requirement for graphic design, website, social media management, preferable for Twitter and LinkedIn management and strategic communications).
Proficient in video editing software such as PremierePro or Final Cut Pro (only a requirement for video editing).
Good understanding of the media landscape (only a requirement for strategic communications).
Preferable but not required: prior experience or knowledge in strategic communications, copywriting, Twitter engagement.
