Forms of sustainable finance have grown rapidly in recent years, as both the private and public sector has incorporated various Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) approaches. While sustainable finance is becoming mainstream, the ways the institutions in this field operate and their motivations change widely. This report provides an overview of the actions and incentives of the four major players in the private and public sustainable finance to shed light on both the opportunities and challenges with respect to the current state of ESG investing.
