Marina Sidwell-Kutumova

Research Director, London Politica

Marina Sidwell-Kutumova is a Research Director at London Politica. Marina is an experienced professional with her core interests being centred around political risk and due diligence investigations. Marina spearheaded the development of a due diligence transferable framework at London Politica and led an embedded team of Research Analysts for London Politica’s client HumanAid. 

Outside of London Politica Marina works at FACT as a Due Diligence and Intelligence Research Analyst. Marina is also certified in PRINCE2 project management and holds an MSc in European Politics and Policy from UCL.

Before embarking on her master’s, Marina had attained a certification in Diplomacy studies from the University of Oxford under the direct supervision of the former UK Ambassador to Moldova. Marina also holds a BSc degree in Business and Management from Aston University.

Marina’s regional research interests include Central Asia, the EU, the UK, and Russia. Having completed her MSc dissertation on trade preferences of SME decision-makers in the context of Brexit, she is additionally interested in international trade and business-government relations.

Marina has quantitative methods training and is proficient in R programming software. Her qualitative research interests are focused on analysing texts and images and include methods such as content analysis and interpretivist approaches. She is fluent in both English and Russian languages, and continuously strives to improve her French. In her spare time Marina enjoys painting, drawing, and just anything artsy.
