London Politica also publishes analysis and insight on emerging and prominent trends in political, geopolitical, economic, and security risk through our ten Research Programmes, our regional Spotlight Desks, as well as the London Politica Podcast, which features industry thought leaders, and influential policymakers. This enables us to provide comprehensive and thorough analysis on global political risks for our clients and public audience.
Role Description
London Politica is hiring Research Analysts, for its Business and Markets Watch. Our team is designed to bring political risk onto the balance sheet, helping our audiences and clients navigate the political risks of today that will impact international business tomorrow and consequently leaving them better informed on geopolitical risks and their macroeconomic and market impacts. We do this by producing weekly Spotlights that cover current topics in business, finance, and international politics; in-depth country and company reports in collaboration with other Research Programmes, and annual reviews that highlight and analyse overarching topics between business, finance, and international politics.
Responsibilities:
Being responsive on Slack, our internal communications platform, is crucial.
Conducting high-quality and relevant analysis on a regular basis individually and in team settings.
Beyond individual Spotlight contributions, you are encouraged to take advantage of the diverse environment at London Politica and get involved with extended research projects.
Work and collaborate with other Research Programmes for Business and Markets Watch on joint projects.
Engaging internally and externally with business development activities.
Beyond your Business and Markets Watch, to contribute to London Politica’s client projects and output stream.
Your Profile:
Proactive individual capable of formulating critical analyses pertinent to current trends in business, finance, and political risk.
Able to write articulately on geopolitical developments and political risk with a focus on macroeconomic trends and transnational business activity.
A genuine interest for the intersection between political risk and finance; a basic understanding of simple financial vocabulary is required.
Strong research background, with some experience in quantitative and qualitative methods.
Hold, or are currently enrolled in, a Bachelor/Postgraduate degree in a related field (International Relations, Economics, Finance, Business).
Working knowledge of statistics packages (Stata, R) is advantageous.
Are able and willing to commit 6-8 hours, on average, every week to working on Spotlights, business development, or projects.
