Sharif is a Senior Analyst at London Politica's Middle East Watch and the Editor of the MENA Spotlight desk. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of Toronto, with plans to commence his Master's in International Energy at Sciences Po in September of 2023.
Sharif's regional specialization lies in the Middle East, particularly in Iran and GCC countries. He thematically specializes in commodity trade, the geopolitics of energy, and the grand energy transition.
Prior to joining London Politica, Sharif held roles at the Middle East Policy Council, G7 Research Group, and the G20 Research Group. Alongside experience studying and working in the Middle East, Sharif possesses native proficiency in Farsi and English, and proficiencies in Arabic and French.
