Announcing Our New Partner, the Asia-Pacific Oceania Space Association (APOSA)

Today, London Politica welcomed the Asia-Pacific Oceania Space Association (APOSA), a space think-tank and community, to its growing list of partners in the non-government organization and non-profit sector. Over the coming months, London Politica is excited to be conducting a series of research projects alongside APOSA tackling space-related issues, opportunities and risks. The first collaborative project foucses on Earth Observation (EO) data-sharing in ASEAN.

Aleena Joseph, Co-Founder and Head of External Relations at APOSA said;

”The LP-APOSA Research team will work towards finding actionable insights to benefit the development of the ASEAN countries. We believe that this team is the beginning of many collaborations to come in the future between APOSA and LP.”

London Politica’s Head of Research, Samuel Jardine, said;

“The space sector presents an exciting new field for policy, security, and risk analysis. Its dynamic opportunities are imperilled by increasing geopolitical competition, and the need for proper implementation of policy approaches. Working to resolve these issues is an imperative if we are to avoid the historic pitfall of policy simply reacting to catastrophe. To this aim, London Politica is honoured to be collaborating with the Asia-Pacific Oceania Space Association on providing research into how space can be safely and effectively utilized by upcoming actors and identifying areas of political, policy, or security risk that need international attention.“

About APOSA: The Asia-Pacific Oceania Space Association is a think tank and community space who aims to facilitate the development of a sustainable space community in the Asia Pacific Oceania Region through providing a continuous platform to connect and discuss diverse topics and to forge a community of problem solvers. They were represented at the UNESCAP 25th session of the Intergovernmental Consultative Committe of Regional Space Applications Programme for Sustainable Development in 2021.
