Samuel Jardine for Open Lunar Foundation hosts event on IAC sidelines in collaboration with the Sustainable Markets Initiative, Karman Project, and joined by UNOOSA and its Director Aarti Holla-Maini

Our Head of Research, Samuel Jardine, on behalf of the Open Lunar Foundation, hosted an event on the sidelines of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2024 on the 17th October in collaboration with the Sustainable Markets Initiative (who launched Astra Carter on behalf of King Charles III), the Karman Project, and joined by UNOOSA and its Director Aarti Holla-Maini.

The event brought together over 40 leaders from government, academic, space agency, scientific and commercial lunar space, and space-adjacent actors to discuss 'Responsible and Coordinated Operations in the Lunar and Cislunar Environment’. The first half saw discussion and feedback provided on Open Lunar’s Lunar Registry of Objects and Activities (a project that Sam leads), with the second half seeing UNOOSA discuss how commercial actors can engage with the newly created Action Team on Lunar Activities Consultation (ATLAC).
