This report, the inaugural of London Politica’s Middle East Programmme, scrutinises the past and present of media in the Middle East. Focusing chiefly on highlighting the intersections between the media and local, regional, and international geopolitics, this report aims to unveil the complex legal, political, and activist landscapes behind the region’s media.
It employs a case study approach, examining 5 states – Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Türkiye – and offers a critical analysis of their media pasts, presents, and futures
